Weekly Update for 10/28/19

Book Character Day/Halloween Celebration
      We will be having our Book Character Day/Halloween Celebration on Friday, November 1.  Please come dressed as your favorite book character.  Don’t forget to bring you book!  Our annual CAES Book Character Day Parade will be at 9:15. We will also have a Halloween Celebration that afternoon.  More information will be coming to those that have volunteered to help with our celebrations from Mrs. Hicks, Paisley’s mom.


What are we learning this week?
Word Talk: ending blends  -lt as in belt and -ft as in raft and -st as in fast

Reading:
1.9i Read and reread familiar stories and poems, with fluency, accuracy, and meaningful expression.
1.10h Read and reread familiar stories and poems, with fluency, accuracy, and meaningful expression.

Oral Language:
1.1f Follow rules for conversation, using appropriate voice level in small-group settings. 
1.6e Reread and self-correct.

Writing SOL 
1.12b Use prewriting activities to generate ideas.
1.12d Organize writing to suit a purpose. (Descriptive) 

Math SOL
1.13 The student will sort and classify concrete objects according to one or two attributes.
1.14 The student will identify, describe, extend, create, and transfer growing and repeating patterns.
