Weekly Update for 11/05/18

*Zoo Field Trip Reminders
Our field trip to the Norfolk Zoo will be on Thursday, November 8.  Please remember the following in preparation for the trip:
1.    All students should bring a bagged lunch (preferably in a disposable bag) with their name written on the outside.
2.   Wear good walking shoes and a jacket if the weather warrants it.  We will be outside the whole trip.
3.   Students may bring a towel or small blanket to sit on while eating lunch at the park.
4.   We will NOT be purchasing anything at the zoo.  No money is needed for this trip.

“The ABC’s of Thanksgiving” Performance
We are getting ready for our first play of the school year.  We will be performing, “The ABC’s of Thanksgiving” on Tuesday, November 20th at 3:00 in our classroom.  You and your family are welcome to take your child fro an early dismissal.
Each student was given a line(s) that they will say for our play.  My goal is for everyone to be able to say their lines from memory.  I sent a copy of their parts home in agenda books on Friday.  Please let me know if your child will not be in school on Tuesday, November 20th.

*Blacktop Resurfacing
First grade is investigating possible projects for the grade to complete this year.  One of the ideas we have is to create a more inviting blacktop area.  If anyone has connections to someone or a company that could donate their services to resurface the blacktop, please let me know.
