Weekly Update for 09/21/15

PALS Testing
This week will begin our PALS (Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening) testing.  It is not something your child can study for, but a way of assessing their understanding of phonics, reading, and comprehension.  Each child will be given a spelling, sight word recognition, and oral reading assessment.  Once the testing is complete, I will send home a letter explaining how your child performed.  At that time I will also schedule conferences to discuss the results.

What are we learning this week?
