Read Aloud to a Child Week
This week is Read Aloud to A Child Week. Reading is such an important life skill. Research has shown that students who are read to or read books themselves are more successful in school. Please take a moment to read book to your child. Not only does it help their reading fluency and comprehension, but it is quality time spent with your child in this very busy, fast moving world of ours!
Read for the Record
Thursday is Read for the Record Day! On October 22, 2015 children and adults worldwide will take action by participating in the world’s largest shared reading experience. Each year, Jumpstart selects one children’s book as the catalyst for Read for the Record. This year’s campaign book, Not Norman: A Goldfish Story, written by Kelly Bennett and illustrated by Noah Z. Jones, is a humorous tale about a child who finds a new friend in an unexpected place.
Unity Day
Wednesday, October 21st is Unity Day to promote no bullying! We are asking for everyone to wear orange on this day! It would nice to have a sea of orange throughout our building showing support for no bullying!
