Weekly Update for 10/27/14

Pumpkin Day

We will be celebrating Pumpkin Day on Friday, October 31 instead of Book Character Day this year.  I will be contacting volunteers about helping with activities in the morning morning because it is an early dismissal day at 2:20 that day.  Children are encouraged to wear orange be prepared to have a great day learning all about pumpkins.

What are we learning this week?

Skill: Author's Purpose (Persuade, Inform, Entertain =P.I.E.)

Strategy:  Determining Importance

Language: Singular and Plural Nouns

AR:  Accelerated Reader

We have started AR this week.  AR stands for Accelerated Reader.  Students are reading books on their level and taking tests on them.  A letter outlining how you can connect view your child's AR data will be coming home in their graded paper folder on Tuesday.
