School Way

This is a way to keep connected with the classroom.  Please look for information for coming about this new system.  I hope to be using it to keep you up to date on reminders.  

AR:  Accelerated Reader

We have started AR this week.  AR stands for Accelerated Reader.  Students are reading books on their level and taking tests on them.  More information if available upon request.  

What are we learning this week?

Skill: Questioning/Predicting

Strategy:  Cause and Effect
Daily 5: Continue Building Stamina for Read to Self, Read to Someone, and Listening to Reading, Working with Words 

Phonics: final consonants n, t, d, p, g, m; -at, -an, -ap word families; Short A vowel sound as in the word cat

Language: Sentences

Math: Patterns (SOL 1.17)

Science:  Sun and the Moon (SOL 1.7)
Social Studies: Seasons (SOL 1.6)
