Weekly Update for 10/27/14

Pumpkin Day

We will be celebrating Pumpkin Day on Friday, October 31 instead of Book Character Day this year.  I will be contacting volunteers about helping with activities in the morning morning because it is an early dismissal day at 2:20 that day.  Children are encouraged to wear orange be prepared to have a great day learning all about pumpkins.

What are we learning this week?

Skill: Author's Purpose (Persuade, Inform, Entertain =P.I.E.)

Strategy:  Determining Importance

Phonics: short o families -ob and -og

Language: Singular and Plural Nouns

Math:  Addition/Subtraction (SOL 1.5)

Science:  Sun and the Moon (SOL 1.7)
Social Studies: Seasons (SOL 1.6)
